ToolsInk Business Premier
Is the Ink Business Premier worth its $195 fee?
MoneyRoom Card Score
5.0/ 10
Only at volume. With no credits, nothing offsets the $195 fee in our steady-state math — value reads 0.0 — and the flat 2× has to out-earn a free alternative before this card breaks even.

The Premier completes the Ink trilogy the hard way: same family, same points, plus an annual fee with no statement credits behind it. Our engine's response is mechanical and familiar from the Ink Business Preferred's page — an empty ledger against a real fee zeroes the value pillar, and the headline settles at 5.0 despite a perfectly clean effort score and a flat 2× that matches the best free cash cards.
The legitimate case is scale arithmetic. The Premier's enhanced big-purchase rate is conditional — our engine excludes it like every conditional rate — but a business whose card volume is large enough makes even the unconditional 2.0% spread over a free alternative recover the $195 fee. Below that volume, the free Unlimited is simply the better Ink.
The ledger
The $195 fee vs what you get back.
Typical value applies our published realization factors: the discount for expiry windows, spending restrictions, enrollments, and reimbursement delays a real cardholder faces.
This card has no recurring statement credits. There's nothing to enroll in, track, or forfeit — the ledger is empty by design.

The fine print that matters
Why is typical value less than face value?
Two structural notes decide this card. First, the headline big-purchase rate applies only above a per-transaction size — a condition, so our score prices the flat 2× instead. Second, unlike its Ink siblings, the Premier's points don't join the Ultimate Rewards pooling game — they're cash-value only, which quietly removes the one strategic reason to prefer an Ink over an outside flat-rater. What's left is pure volume math against the fee.

Honest gaps
What does the score leave out?
- The big-purchase rate. Real for invoices over the size floor, conditional by construction, excluded by rule — a business living in large transactions should mentally re-run this page.
- Pay-in-full working-capital features. Charge-card-style flexibility for cash-flow management; operationally valuable, unpriceable as rewards.
- The welcome bonus and business protections. One-time money and insurance-shaped coverage, outside the steady state.

Questions
Asked before applying.
Why does the Premier score the lowest of the three Inks?
It's the only one with a fee and the only one without credits — the same no-credit pattern that put the Ink Business Preferred at the bottom of the value pillar. Volume, not perks, is its entire defense.
At what point does the fee pay for itself?
When your annual card volume times the rate spread over your best free option exceeds $195. The calculator below runs that break-even with your own numbers — for most small operations, it doesn't clear.
Do Premier points pool with other Chase cards?
No — and that's the quiet catch. Unlike the Cash and Unlimited, these points stay cash-only, so the classic Ink pooling strategy skips this card entirely.
