We publish our own caveats, and this page's has been resolved: the complimentary Instacart+ membership covers the first year only, so our model now routes it — along with the approval-time credit — to the first-year extras list instead of counting it as recurring value. The steady-state ledger reads zero by design; what the 8.3 prices is the durable card underneath: the rate table on a no-fee chassis.
That rate table is decent for the audience: 2× on dining and gas over an ordinary base, 1.3% effective on our basket, with the card's real headline — its Instacart-order earning — living in a category our household basket doesn't isolate. No fee, no clocks: the plainest version of this card is still a free card that pays you to keep using the service it's named after.

- The approval-time credit. A one-time signup event — listed under first-year extras, excluded by the same rule that drops every welcome bonus.
- Instacart-order earning as a lifestyle line. Our basket has no delivery-app slot; a weekly orderer's lived rate exceeds this page's blend.

Why doesn't the score count the free membership?
Because it's first-year-only. A steady-state score prices what a year-two holder still receives; time-boxed extras are listed beside the number, never inside it. An earlier version of our model counted the membership — this page flagged it, and the data pass fixed it.
What's the durable, year-two card worth?
The rate table: 2× on dining and gas, 1.3% effective on our basket, no fee — a solid free companion card for the app's regulars.
Should non-Instacart users consider it?
